Reagan Stanley

Reagan Stanley
Owner/Chairman of the Board

The man who put the “Stanley” in “Stanley Stuart Yoffee & Hendrix,” Reagan is the founder and part owner of SSYH. He is primarily responsible for public relations, vendor and client relationships, and recruiting for the firm. Reagan founded SSYH in 1992, when the company was known as “Reagan Stanley and Associates.”

“I have a fun job that’s a dream come true for me. I get to find the people and help choose who’s on our team,” he said, “and I can say with absolute certainty that we have the best team in the Microsoft Dynamics business.”

Reagan has lived in Central Florida since the early 1970s. He now resides on a farm in Clermont with his wife Angie, three dogs, two horses and two ducks. He is passionate about animals and has been on the board of the non-profit charitable organization South Lake Animal League for the past three years, where he currently serves as President. The mission of South Lake Animal League is to help abused, abandoned and neglected animals in Lake County. Committed to a "no-kill" policy, the League has placed more than 2,600 animals into loving homes since 1988. All three of the Stanley's dogs and both of their ducks are rescue animals.

Reagan is also the past President of Friends of Lake Louisa State Park. The role of this citizen support organization is to provide volunteers and funding to support one of Florida's newest state parks, located in Clermont.

  LOOKING AHEAD TO THE END OF THE YEAR

Can you believe we're already approaching the end of 2008? Halloween, elections, Thanksgiving, December holidays and the new year are right around the corner. All of us at SSYH would like to take this opportunity to wish you a safe and happy holiday season, and continued success in the new year. Thank you for the trust you've placed in us as your business partner.


At this time of year, you should start thinking about your accounting year-end processes. Here are some guidelines for SL and GP to help get you moving in the right direction.

Microsoft Dynamics® SL (Solomon) Payroll Year-End Tips

  • Complete all payroll runs for the current year.

  • Create a backup of your database and mark as 2008 pre-year-end tax update.

  • Install the 2008 year-end update. This update will include the 2009 tax information.

  • Run the W2 Calculation.

  • Review Employee W2 information in Employee W2 History. You can use Initialize Mode to edit the information.

  • Print the W2 forms.

  • Create a backup of your database and mark as 2008 post-year-end file.

  • Run 1099 Preview Report. You can use the Vendor History Report, AP Transaction Report, and the Vendor Trial Balance-All Documents Report to compare 1099 information. Changes can be made in AP Vendor Maintenance 1099 Tab using Initialize Mode.

  • Once you have printed the 1099 for the year, review the 1099 Calendar Year Control. The Change Status Process Option will allow you to close the 1099 year. This will prevent checks from being written for this year. The Purge Oldest Year option will purge the oldest year and roll the years forward. For example, if you have the current year as 2008, and the next 1099 year as 2009, the system will purge the 1099 information for 2008, make 2009 the current 1099 year, and 1020 the next 1099 year.

Note: Do not purge 2008 information until you have printed and verified the 1099s. Once you close or purge a year, you cannot go back.

Microsoft Dynamics® GP (Great Plains) Payroll Year-End Tips

  • Complete all payroll runs for the current year.

  • Complete all monthly and quarterly payroll period-end procedures.

  • Create a backup of your database and mark as 2008 pre-year-end tax update.

  • Install the year-end update.

  • Create a year-end file.

  • Create a backup of your database and mark as 2008 post-year-end file.

  • Verify and print W2 and 1099-R statements.

  • Install payroll tax updated for 2009.

Note: Do not install the updates until the year-end file for 2008 has been created.

South Florida Client Appreciation Event

 

The South Florida Client Appreciation Event and Open House was held in Fort Lauderdale on September 16. SSYH representatives welcomed clients from sites such as MHG Marine Benefits, National Healing Corporation and Signature Grand. In addition to free food and drinks, the Microsoft truck was on hand for product demonstrations. Thanks to everyone who attended!

 

Next year, we'll be holding our Customer Appreciation events earlier in the year to avoid hurricane season. Look for the Central Florida and South Florida dates in the next newsletter.

 

Say hello to the newest members of the SSYH team! Our business is growing, and quite a few new employees joined the company in 2008. To get you up to speed, here's a quick rundown: In April, Tara DeMundo and Gus Diaz joined us as Financial Systems Consultants in our South Florida office, and Kristie York and Matt Shah joined us in our Central Florida office. You may have already had the pleasure of speaking with Kristie, who is our new Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. Matt is a Systems Engineer. In May, the company welcomed Lead Generation Specialist Hector Lopez. Summer Northcutt came on board in August as a Sales Coordinator. Financial Systems Consultant Al Figueroa joined the South Florida team in September, and Marty Windsor took the position of Marketing Manager in the Maitland office. Bob Beardsley, a former SSYH employee, returned to the company in late October as Practice Manager for NAV and SL.
